Appearance

Amenie is a tall woman with a pale bluish skin and eyes, with raven's down hair. A beauty mark sits beneath her left eye. Her frame is tall and lean.

Mannerisms

Amenie is polite to all newcomers, pleasant to her patrons, and has a bleeding heart for young adults and children. She tends to be flirtatious with strong women, even if it's just for fun. She doesn't usually respond well to being the center of attention, insisting there must be more interesting things to talk about than herself.

Skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of academic publications and where to find information in written form.

  • Member of the Arcanist's Guild, and an expert in arcanima.

  • Studied Astrologian, taught by her Sharlayan mother.

  • Formally trained fencer.

  • Self-taught in Garlean scythe weapons.

  • Long-time baker of sweets!

Ramona Grande

Ramona is Amenie's wife of 3 years. Having met the stoic woman as co-workers in a trading company, the two hit it off over little more than a few drinks in a hazy bar. Amenie has strived to be the shoulder her wife can lean on ever since.

Altani & Odtuya Himaa

A pair of twins from the Azim Steppe that Amenie refers to as her daughters. The two came to Eorzea grown and seeking new lives, and Amenie has been happy to welcome the two into her home.

Character Index

  • Adelaide Levenson: There was once a time where Amenie attempted to get closer to Adelaide with a desire to learn the secrets of her magic, only to be struck down by a creation of the selfsame.

  • Charlotte Stellaris: Amenie was dealt a mortal blow in Charlotte's attempts to ruin Ramona's new life during the throes of the Garlean's self-destruction. Her life was narrowly saved, and the helplessness she felt in her recuperation is what drives Amenie to seek further strength.

  • Kiri Rillemont: Amenie met her in the Niten-Ichi Tea House, and suspects she'd be a life-long reader of her books, if she'd but only try. She's so cute!

  • Rhaya Matoi: Amenie regards her well for her seemingly accomplished skill set and pleasant demeanor.

  • Sol Le Faye: There was a time before she committed to her relationship to Ramona where she offered Sol her affection, but ultimately felt that it wasn't truly mutual with the courtesan.

  • U'Kettwah Sesmi: She was attended by Kett during her visit to the Niten-Ichi Tea House, and promised to bring her novellas to read whenever she visits.

Story Hooks

  • Your Local Librarian: If you need a forgotten spell, lost treasure map, or dry treatise on dangerous knowledge, Amenie probably has it. If she doesn't, she might know where to find it!

  • Arcanist: Need someone in the know about arcanima, aether, arcanima and summoning? Amenie's your gal.

  • Gambler: Amenie has played at every table in Eorzea, legal or otherwise. Her supernatural luck of the draw and ability to call a bluff would no doubt make enemies.

Likely Locations

  • The Lavender Beds, Gridania: Her home district.

  • The Mists, Limsa Lominsa: Location of the Chamberliaux Library.

  • The Quicksand, Ul'dah: One of her favorite bars.

  • Old Sharlayan: Often found dealing in acquisition of books and magical materials.

  • The Gold Saucer: Her favorite place to play!

Amenie was born to an Ishgardian son of nobility and Sharlayan mother of education, raised between expectations of succession within the Ishgardian houses and the pursuit of higher knowledge at the Studium. Amenie felt utterly out of place in her youth owing to her mixed heritage and chose to cast aside the expectations placed upon her when she was 17 years old.Venturing away from Ishgard to travel through the Black Shroud, Amenie quickly found herself in a life of odd jobs and seedy taverns. While she wasn't quite satisfied with her new life, she didn't want to crawl back home either. On a hot summer night with particularly empty pockets she bet her savings on a game of cards and walked off with her rent money. Beginner's luck or not, she kept at it, and soon she was playing to win in every card house in the Shroud with an unusual streak of good fortune. Not many questions were asked about the sudden acquisition of the building by an investor interested in opening a library, with extravagant sums of money spent on the highest quality texts. A home to research and inquiry apart from complex establishments such as the Scholasticate or Mealvaan's Gate. Its sole custodian, a polite woman by the name of Amy, earned the patronage of her customers with hospitality...It has been 7 years since the opening of the library and the business has since moved to Limsa Lominsa, having found a new market in supplying Arcanists with tools of the trade. Amenie herself has affiliated with several trading companies to supply sought-after maps and texts and freshly bound tomes to supply mages of the realm. One particularly dangerous job wound her up in a web of dangerous mages, almost costing Amenie her own life in pursuit of knowledge and newfound companions. Now, she focuses on her library's business and physical training while looking after her unlikely family.

Hello! I'm Shib (He/Him). I've been playing FFXIV for about 5 years now and I've been involved in roleplaying for over a decade. I'm very open to any kind of roleplaying, but I generally prefer adventures and romances of the extravagant kinds. I'm pretty busy sometimes with my job, so you can catch me in the evenings in North American hours.

Roleplay considerations

  • I will: Combat RP. One-shot RP. Long-term RP. Dramatic plots. Heavy, feeling-driven plots. Romance. Sexual tension. Serious injury. Temporary injury and incapacitation of mind or body. Temporary captivity or imprisonment. Assassination attempts. Rivalries. Deep platonic friendships.

  • I will not: Allow lore breaking. Allow my character to be killed. Injury that will leave my character incapacitated. Allow godmodding. OOCly planned romances, except under special circumstances.

  • Ask about: ERP. Torture that leaves behind lasting, long-term effects (aka, longer than 3 months). Long-term and/or permanent injury. Long-term captivity or imprisonment. Significant tampering of the mind. Anything that is dramatically character-changing, or may have extremely negative implications for my character.

General Policies

Don't be a dick and I'll be fine with you. Don't play something that super breaks the lore and I'll be fine with you. I'm willing to put up with a lot of weird lorebendy stuff as long as you're able to give a reason why it actually matters to your character and isn't just for the rule of cool (even though that's the most important rule). Server drama is stupid and if you get involved in it you're stupid. We're here to have fun, so let's have fun!Romance: I want the characters to grow and get to know one another rather than just falling in love inorganically. OOCly planned romances are only something that I'm interested in with people I'm already friends with OOC because I know them.Combat/Injury: I am okay with either roll battles or emote battles. All I ask is that you don't godmod and accept the consequences of fighting, and I will do the same!
